Women’s Counselling Bellingen Coffs Harbour (in-person and online sessions available)
We’re supposed to have it together. All the time. We’re supposed to love and take care of everybody else, maintain the patience of a saint, and give of ourselves as though we are a bottomless glass.
But what about when we turn that inwards?
A lot of us find that we don’t have any answers. We get stuck making decisions. We don’t know how to tap into what we ‘really’ want from life. We’ve forgotten what it’s like to live for ourselves.
Sometimes this happens when a huge shock is thrown our way: a loved one passes on, or a big relationships ends, or a health issue throws what we thought we knew- what we could rely on- into turmoil. Other times it creeps up over years, so gradually we hadn’t even realised we’d lost sight of what life is all about for us- what we want it to be and even more importantly HOW we want to be.
It’s uncomfortable (at best) and terrifying (at worst).
Women’s counselling Bellingen can help you find your ‘you-shaped’ choices again. Making decisions from your heart doesn’t have to be selfish. Far from it.
When you can lean into the place that feels good- a place of peace- you’re most likely to make decisions that are better for everyone (even if some people don’t like it).
I can help you strip back all the ‘shoulds’ and the ‘can’ts’ and the ‘I don’t knows’ and the ‘worries’ and find what’s underneath.
Rediscovering your values, not to go back to an earlier version of yourself, but instead redefine who you are now and take actions that are in alignment with her.
Once we understand a lot more about what’s keeping you stuck, we can then move forward into unsticking. When you’re less burdened by problems, less overwhelmed by ‘busyness’ and negative self-image, the answers to many things become much clearer.
The YOU who has been buried resurfaces and so much more becomes available as we walk together.
Let’s bring her into the light, feeling confident even in her vulnerability.
You may be surprised to learn that almost everyone who commits to counselling can do this- no matter how big and overwhelming things seem right now.
I’ve been providing professional counselling and support to people in need for over 15 years, and this experience and the opportunity to develop a feminist framework has led me to specialise in helping women. With a Masters Degree in Narrative Therapy, it’s my role to help you gain clarity and more control over the parts of your story that are holding you back from your preferred life, and move towards feeling better: less overwhelmed, happier, braver and more definite.
It’s scary but we can do it together: gently, openly, and even occasionally with humour.
