Introduction Video And Online Course Information

Welcome to From Bashful To Bold!

You’re embarking on a challenging, exciting and ultimately uplifting journey to grow confidence, increase self-worth and skyrocket your ability to get more of what you need and want from your life.

This is a go-at-your-own-pace course, however each ‘lesson’ is designed with about a week in between each one. Hence this being a 10-week course.

Here’s what you need

  • 1. Time (booked into your calendar)
  •

Think of each lesson like a therapy session.

In fact, that’s what we’re going to call them from now on, sessions.

Book a time in your calendar that cannot be interrupted for at least 1 hour (or more!) every week for 10 weeks.

This is time for YOU. You’re going to spend it with me (and maybe a friend) doing these reflections and exercises. Some of them require you to do more than reflect, so book the session at the ‘beginning’ of your Bashful to Bold week so you have time to do the activity and then reflect on it.

If you can’t find an hour in the week to gift yourself, then you know what? You need this course the most! Re-open your calendar and try again.

  • 2. A Journal
  •

For most of our sessions, you will need a ‘reflective tool’ (E.g: a journal; visual art diary; video diary; word document; scrapbook) and you may also want some ‘scrapbooky bits n bobs’ to get artsy and decorative (if that’s your thing).

  • 3. Commitment
  •

Feel free to move more quickly or slowly through the questions and videos. Just be aware that each session contains elements of reflection, activity, and ‘noticing’ yourself in your various environments, so rushing through might mean you don’t get to really experience the change you’re hoping for.

If something doesn’t resonate, don’t give up, just skip ahead and find something that does (there’s A LOT here to explore). Set yourself the intention to go back and have another look at anything you skipped though.

Whatever you do, don’t let failure stories rob you of your own experiences. If this online course to build self-worth takes more time than you thought, or it turns out not to be quite right for you at the moment, it’s ok. You aren’t doing anything wrong. Put it down knowing you can pick it up at any time in the future.

I know, I know, slowness sux.

If I knew a quick way or a way without any effort to get ‘there’ then I wouldn’t hide it from you I promise! And I’m really not a fan of folks who lie to sell quick-fix products and ideas.

Unfortunately change takes time and practice.

You don’t go to the gym expecting to walk out with a 6-pack after a couple of sessions. You don’t go to University or TAFE or start a new job expecting to know everything in a week.

So this is an invitation to Sloooooooooow Down and really spend time with your awesome self.

Your awesome self = your happier, bolder and centred self. It’s so important because everything in your life is better when you’re more centred.

You make better choices, experience more joy, can handle tough situations, have stronger relationships, and feel less anxious. We don’t have to live the same life as has been dictated by society or our old stories that no longer serve us.

Knowing more about YOU can help you live the life you want.

Try to engage as deeply and richly as possible with each session. Some weeks are harder than others, from an emotional standpoint more than anything else, so be aware that you’re gonna dig deep, and you are going to make changes that can only happen when you do dig deep.

  • 4. A buddy or three (optional)
  •

If you’re the kind of person who is more likely to stick to something if there’s another person expecting you to show up, then find your person! Maybe it’s your partner, your best friend, your mum, your nephew or your entire art class or walking group.

Sharing the activities, witnessing each other, holding each other accountable, and (the best part) being cheerleaders can take your confidence-building game to the next level. And if you’re trying to build intimacy with someone- like your partner/s- there aren’t too many better ways than engaging in this course together.

Of course it’s just as helpful if you do the whole thing in 100% privacy, alone, deeply engaged. You do you. But make sure you DO.

One more thing:

The order of our sessions in this course has been chosen to pace yourself from ‘now’ toward a future ‘self’ you feel more settled in. It’s a process that has been designed to best help you define your own identity and grow that confident self from a place of authenticity.

But please do skip ahead if something feels blocked or its’s a drudge or it’s too hard. Just be mindful that later sessions might have less of an impact if earlier ones aren’t done. However you can always revisit earlier sessions if you want or need to. And again, don’t beat yourself if it’s not clicking, just let it go (for now).

Being confident is about being able to trust yourself; not being held back by what others might think; and feeling ‘lighter’ in your decisions and brave in your actions.

It’s about not 2nd-guessing yourself constantly.

It’s about getting more of what you need and want from life (and no, you are not a massive selfish jerk if you want things for yourself, my love).

I’m holding you in my heart and wishing the very best for you. I am so glad you are here.

Good luck!

Love Nicole OXO
