Have you been looking for some simple, visual direction on how to ‘do’ Mindfulness? This series of pictures I took while out on my regular dog walk represents the simplest of ways to just BE. A Mindful Autumn Afternoon in Pictures brings you along, for just a few moments. Please join me and my best furry friend and awesome senior dog Ella…
It looks like reading a favourite book on the lush ground, knees bent and feet dangling in the bright rays of the setting sun.
It sounds like bike tyres rolling languidly over pebbly ground and friends laughing while Crimson Rosella’s argue loudly in the treetops.
It smells like green- the strong and inviting scent of freshly clipped grass overriding the faintest whiff of exhaust fumes pushing through from the background.
For 15-30 minutes of your day, leave the earphones at home and try going for a Mindful walk. Gently let your senses absorb and labelling what’s around you: Things you SEE, Things you HEAR and things you SMELL.
Mindfulness has enormous benefits for your health and mental health. If you do this regularly, you will find yourself generally more able to enjoy the current moments of daily life, more able to concentrate and focus when you need to, and a little less stressed out.
Did you enjoy this post? After Easter it can be a bit of a blergh, going back to work and all, so it seemed like the perfect time to offer a light post with some useful advice. I like to get a little creative with sharing ideas on how to improve your human wellbeing within the context of a world that would often rather you be a machine. Jump on my list here to receive more free posts and videos, and please get in touch directly with me here if you are looking for online counselling. And I hope- if you live ‘down south’ like I do then you find some simple ways to enjoy the last of these sunny Autumn days. Ps: If you like these images then why not follow me on Instagram? I’d love to meet with you there.
