What’s wrong with me?
It’s a question many folks ask themselves. Over and over. Second guessing your thoughts, words and actions on a daily basis.
You can so easily get sucked into a black hole- and as we all know a black hole is virtually impossible to get out of. Especially without a guide, a strong rope held by someone with your best interests at heart, to help.
Narrative therapy invites us to ask better questions than ‘what’s wrong with me’.
Together we work on understanding and then re-authoring Problem Stories that get in the way of the life you’d prefer to be living.
Those stories may have become embedded in who you believe you ‘are’ because they’re so very powerful.
They could have been handed to you by:
- A painful separation that you’re struggling to move on from
- Traumatic experiences that convinced you you’re worthless
- Stress and anxiety from family or work life that are so busy it’s hard to feel like you’re doing anything right
- Something unnameable [Yet. We can work on the naming and contextualising of problem stories in a way that is helpful to you]
I provide professional counselling online and in-person Coffs Harbour. With a Masters in Narrative Therapy and 15 years experience as a social worker and therapist, I can help you get past these problem stories.
Counselling isn’t just for folks with the most ‘serious’ of problems, it’s for anyone who feels stuck.
What’s Your Story?
There are ways to explore and re-author a story, your lived experience, that help you feel stronger and more in control. Most importantly, I see women regaining a sense of hope through our work together.
Hope keeps us going when life is really hard. When counselling is really hard. If being held where you are ‘right now’ is just unimaginable, then please do reach out.
I know it’s scary.
What’s more scary though is living permanently in a black hole. A place where nothing changes and everything is dark and hopeless.
It is possible to live more freely and happily than you thought was possible. When you connect with the real YOU and become more closely aligned with the identity you want, so many things change
- Self worth increases
- Challenges become more manageable
- Bodily symptoms of anxiety, such as panic, subside
- Decision-making becomes clearer
- Life and love feel more available

She offered to help me make something a bit fancy because she believes in my work and getting the message out there, and because she’s just a bloody fabulous person. Women helping each other = LIFE.
